The Oxygen Revolution: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: The Groundbreaking New Treatment for Stroke, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Arthritis, Autism, Learning Disabilities and More

Book Description

October 26, 2010
HOPE FOR MANY “HOPELESS” DISEASES, FROM ONE OF THE FOREMOST RESEARCHERS IN THE FIELD

When Randy McCloy, Jr., the sole survivor of the Sago Mine disaster, finally walked out of the hospital to rejoin his family, it was in part due to the miracle of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is based on an almost laughably simple idea: Oxygen can be used therapeutically for a wide range of conditions where tissues have been damaged by oxygen deprivation. Restore that oxygen, goes the logical thinking, and you can restore much of the lost function.

It seems too good to be true, but Dr. Paul G. Harch’s research and clinical practice has shown that this noninvasive and painless treatment can help the tens of millions of Americans who suffer from a brain injury or disease, such as:

· Stroke
· Autism and other learning disabilities
· Cerebral palsy and other birth injuries
· Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, and other degenerative neurological diseases
· Emergency situations requiring resuscitation, such as cardiac arrest, carbon monoxide poisoning, or near drowning

It can also improve conditions in which inflammation is the culprit, such as arthritis and asthma; promote healing in infections, burns, and skin grafts, such as diabetic foot wounds; and slow the aging process.

For the millions of Americans suffering from these seemingly “hopeless” diseases, here finally is the handbook of hope. Inspiring and informative, The Oxygen Revolution is the definitive guide to the miracle of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, from a pioneer in the field.

Editorial Reviews

Review

“One of the most important and insightful medical books in 40 years. If you or your loved one have a neurological condition, you cannot afford to be without this book; it has the potential to restore your lost life.”
–Vance Trimble, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of The Uncertain Miracle

“History has demonstrated the value, role, and contribution of medical mavericks like Dr. Harch and the need for more of them. This book serves as a valuable guide in delivering the hard science demanded but often overlooked by mainstream medicine in controversial treatment arenas [like hyperbaric oxygen therapy]. This book will change lives, lives that haven’t been born yet.”
–Rick Rader, M.D., President of the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry

“Dr. Harch is a tireless researcher, brilliant clinician, and true pioneer in hyperbaricoxygen therapy. In this book, he offers compelling reasons for the widespread adoption and utilization of this remarkable, yet overlooked, therapy.”
–Julian Whitaker, M.D., founder of Whitaker Wellness Institute and editor of Health & Healing newsletter

“[T]his book is a brilliant, enjoyably readable, yet in-depth explanation of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).... The concepts in this book should be taught in every medical school and hospital and known in every household.”
–R.A. Neubauer, M.D., founder of the Ocean Hyperbaric Neurologic Center

“An authoritative, well-written book on a subject we all need to know more about.
Highly recommended for physicians and health care consumers alike.”
–Nathaniel Altman, author of The Oxygen Prescription

“Hyperbaric oxygen has been the Cinderella of modern medicine for several decades given that oxygen is not a patentable drug. Finally, thanks to the pioneering efforts of Dr. Harch, the man-on-the-street is becoming aware of this non-invasive therapy.”
–Kenneth P. Stoller, M.D., FAAP, President of the International Hyperbaric Medical Association

The Oxygen Revolution is a fascinating book written by one of the great pioneers in the field of hyperbaric medicine. Dr. Harch shares his incredible knowledge and experience in a compelling book that is both comprehensive and accessible to the lay person. It opens tremendous horizons in the treatment of numerous conditions and will give true hope to millions of people with chronic diseases.”
–Pierre Marois, M.D., F.R.C.P., Ste-Justine University Hospital --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

How do you choose the right portable hyperbaric chambers manufacturer

Important Things To Know About Portable Hyperbaric Chambers And Their Manufacturers

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), that takes place in hyperbaric oxygen chambers, is a painless procedure in which a person is exposed to increased pressure, thus allowing greater absorption of oxygen throughout body tissues. This increased pressure obtained in hyperbaric chambers allows more oxygen to reach the cells within the body therefore contributing to the many healing and therapeutic benefits.

Such hyperbaric oxygen therapy can take place both at home or clinics as dues to its huge demand, portable hyperbaric chambers or rental hyperbaric chambers are amply available in the market.

Portable hyperbaric chambers operate at a lower pressure than hospital grade hyperbaric chambers so they are much safer to perform treatments, while providing the same benefits as higher pressurized chambers. In addition, such rental hyperbaric chambers operate using ambient air, rather than 100% oxygen, so there are virtually no risks of oxygen toxicity or other dangers of using 100% liquid oxygen. Because there are no extra costs for liquid oxygen, portable hyperbaric chambers operate at a significantly lower cost than high pressure systems.

Some important things that people must know before going for portable or rental Hyperbaric Chambers -

Are Portable Hyperbaric Chambers Safe?

Portable hyperbaric chambers are completely safe. The chamber operates with filtered ambient air (surrounding room air), therefore there is no danger of oxygen toxicity in the body that can occur with other hyperbaric oxygen chambers which utilize an oxygen tank. Mild hyperbaric therapy (mHBOT or mHBT) can safely be used in conjunction with nearly all other treatments. However, it is important to remember to consult your physician before starting any new therapy.

How does a treatment in hyperbaric oxygen chamber feel?

The patient can lay or sit comfortably inside a portable hyperbaric chamber and either read, listen to music, sleep or just relax during a session. You will feel a pressure change in the ears as the pressure is raised inside the chamber, and again when the pressure decreases. The majority of people using the portable or rental hyperbaric chamber report a pleasant, comfortable experience

Is the Portable Hyperbaric Chamber Expensive to Operate?

Because the portable or rental hyperbaric chamberutilizes filtered ambient air, there are no oxygen expenses required to operate the chamber. For an hour session, the portable chamber will cost approximately 10 cents in electricity depending on your electricity rates.

Is Special Wiring Required to Operate the Portable Hyperbaric Chamber?

No. Usually portable hyperbaric chambers operate off of a 110 watt outlet so there is no special wiring required.

Hyperbaric Chamber Manufacturers:

One must opt for a distinguished and internationally recognized brand name, with a history of good number of years of design innovation and quality manufacturing in this field. Preferably go for those manufacturers who are solely the full line manufacturer of hyperbaric chambers in the industry and whose product line encompasses both monoplace and multiplace systems.

Hyperbaric chamber manufacturers selling their products to Hospitals (Short Term and Long Term Acute Care, Critical Access and Children's) as well as free standing wound care clinic programs throughout the world should be more preferred.  They should excel in the manufacturing, installation and servicing of hyperbaric oxygen therapy systems.
